Adult/Small Group Leaders
Regular Bible study is important in the lives of adults. The Bible says that "man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord." To help focus and study the scripture we often use books and other materials. Leaders commit to one book or unit at a time. Commitment length can vary depending on the length of the study. Don't mistake this for a teaching position. The Holy Spirit is our teacher. Leaders just help guide and focus the studies.
Sunday Morning Leaders - on Sunday morning, the pastor usually leads one Bible study and another adult leads a second Bible study. Books or other topics of study are chosen by our adult education leader, Karen Biekirch. Adult leaders can choose their own books or resources. We ask that these materials be reviewed by our pastor prior to their use. Commitment length varies depending on materials. A good leader usually does not prepare a lesson, but will read ahead, answer all questions, make discussion notes, etc. to help faciliate discussion during the study.
Wednesday Evening Leaders - three Bible studies are typically offered on Wednesday evenings. A leader is needed for each study. Women only lead the women's study and men only lead the men's study. The combined study can be lead by a man or a woman.
Home/Small Group Leader - Htlc is always looking for and encouraging small groups to meet outside of the church building. Size, structure, and study can all vary. Please, contact Karen Beikirch or pastor if you are interesting in hosting a small group Bible study at your home or during the week at church.
Please contact Karen for more information or to volunteer.
